Steve Rodgers, Prudential California Realty. As President and Chief Executive Officer of Prudential California Realty in Southern California and the Central Coast, Steve Rodgers is responsible for overseeing the operations of more than 90 offices and 4,600 agents. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and strong leadership skills, he has been a key force behind the success of the top Prudential Real Estate company in the country. Rodgers has enjoyed a flourishing career in real estate for nearly twenty years,over twelve of them with Prudential. His first assignment on joining the company was to enhance its successful new-agent training and licensing program. From there, he moved to management, turning a struggling office into one of the top ten Prudential Real Estate offices in the country.

Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to general manager of the San Diego region. In September of 2006, he was named chief operating officer and president of the company. Rodgers was appointed CEO in April of 2007.

Terry Moerler, REALTOR® and Operating Partner at Keller Williams in Westlake Village California, has been a REALTOR® since 1979.

Terry was a former Vice President/Loan Officer for a Santa Barbara Bank before moving to the Conejo Valley in the late 1970’s. Terry is married to Raymond McCarthy. They have a daughter, Marlene, who grew up in the Conejo Valley and is now a pediatric nurse. Marlene, her husband, Clinton, and their sons Jack and Charlie live in Thousand Oaks. Terry enjoys being a “Grandma” and traveling the world with Raymond.

Yamila M. Ayad, President of Mission Home Loans in San Marcos, California. Fifteen years of Neonatal Intensive care nursing prepared Yamila Ayad for the rigors of mortgage lending. An energetic, upbeat professional by nature, Ayad simply shifted her role as counselor to parents of newborns, to counselor of Hispanic borrowers as new homeowners. Her motto: With good information, people make better choices. Her positive approach made the career shift 15 years ago seamless and helped to establish her quickly as a reputable lender to the Hispanic community.

A native of Colombia, Ms. Ayad served on the board of directors for the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) from 2002 to 2007 and is a compelling voice in the organization's quest to lobby major lenders for products that better meet the needs of the Hispanic community. She is also an "Eagle", a by-invitation-only distinction bestowed by NAHREP on 15 leading Hispanic real estate entrepreneurs in the nation. In 2006, she was invited to join the San Diego Foundation CREFT Board and this year, she was invited to join The Housing Opportunities Collaborative Board of San Diego.

Janet Acheatel, Crown Consulting Group. Janet has held senior positions in the investment management and financial services industries over the past 28 years.  Prior to launching Crown Consulting Group, Janet was a Portfolio Manager at Brandes Investment Partners, a global investment management firm in San Diego, CA. During her tenure at Brandes, she created the firm’s in-house Investment Professional Development Program, a professional communications and leadership training program with a focus on presentation skills training.

Before joining Brandes, Janet was a Senior Institutional Client Service Officer at Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management.  Her clients were broadly diversified by client type, geography and investment mandate.  She was also Vice President of Marketing Communications and Research managing the firm’s institutional marketing efforts.  As Executive Vice President at Lexington Capital Management, Janet served on the firm’s investment policy committee and was Principal for the firm’s Advisory and Broker/Dealer divisions.  Her career in the investment management industry began as an account executive with a Dean Witter Reynolds.

Karen Bates, CPA/President:  Karen served eight years in the Navy as an Air Traffic Controller.  Following her naval career, she graduated from Old Dominion University with a major in accounting and was valedictorian of her business college.  Karen later went on to complete a Master’s of Taxation and acquire her CPA license.  As a CPA, Karen gained invaluable experience preparing tax returns and auditing small businesses and individuals with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP.  Upon arrival in San Diego, Karen obtained a position with a mortgage lending company where she began educating herself on all aspects of the mortgage industry and received her Real Estate Broker License.  With her background as an active duty military member, as a tax accountant and as a mortgage broker, Karen has an unbeatable combination of skills and knowledge to help military families achieve their dream of home ownership. 

 

Ken Bates, Vice President:  Ken entered the Navy as a commissioned officer in 1993 after earning an aeronautical engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  He began as a Radar Intercept Officer (RIO, back seater) in the F-14 Tomcat assigned to the ‘Bounty Hunters’ of VF-2 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  Following VF-2, Ken graduated from the prestigious Naval Test Pilot School and later was the key player in delivering last minute upgrades to the Tomcat community just prior to the beginning of the Iraqi war.  He left active duty in August 2005, and is still an active Naval Reservist locally in San Diego.  With his engineering background and experience as a test pilot, you will not find a better critical thinker on any team!

Hobbies 

The ocean plays a large part in my life; I have grown up in it surfing, diving, and fishing.  I also enjoy riding motorcycles as well (I built my Harley.)   Working out also plays major role in my life as does Religion and constant learning.  Lastly I am an avid reader and adrenalin purser of anything that poses a challenge.

I began my career by processing all loan types, then I was a Loan Officer briefly before going into Underwriting for many, many, years, when FHA came out with the Direct Endorsement program and VA came out with the Automatic program and then the LAPP I moved directly into specializing in these loans.  I have managed Underwriting and Funding centers for many years and also I currently manage the Mentoring Hub in Irvine, CA for Indymac where we help new DE and VA underwriters begin their careers.  We also handle underwriting exceptions and 2nd Look Reviews for difficult loans and properties in order to enable us to do loans that demand special attention because of special circumstances’ with borrowers.  I love what I do and enjoy helping people become new homeowners.

Ginni Field started in the business world in the ‘70s running the operations side of a successful trade show design and production company. From that start, Ginni continued working in Corporate America in Operations and Systems/Organizational Management.

Ginni then began a real estate career in August of 1986 and began managing her first branch in January of 1989. Her many accolades as a REALTOR included being named REALTOR Associate of the Year in 1991 and REALTOR of the Year 1998 by the Greater Fairfield Association of REALTORS in Fairfield, Connecticut.
